Woga® 1&2 (Yoga in Water) with Ankit & Pooja
December 22 - December 23

A 2-day course.
Woga is a combination of two words: water and yoga. It is based on classic yoga poses and stretches, modified for standing in water that is waist-to-chest height.

Woga focuses on Hatha Yoga in water, including asanas performed in standing position, against the wall, in floating position, and under water. The course also includes pranayama and meditation.

Classes follow a structure similar to land-based yoga: breathing exercises, warm-ups, a series of poses, and a relaxation period. The key difference is that you are in a warm water pool! Swimming skills are not required.
By reducing the effects of gravity, water allows ease of movements, unblocks joints, lengthens and relaxes muscles, alleviates negative tensions, and prevents stress, insomnia and anxiety.
Prerequisites: No previous experience required (also no need to know how to swim).
Credits: Woga 1&2 (Yoga in Water) gives 12 supplementary hours of credit for registration as international Watsu practitioner within the Watsu India learning program.

Ankit Shah
Ankit, along with his wife Pooja, is one of the youngest and most prominent Indian-origin practitioners and instructors of Watsu and Woga.
While building a successful corporate career, Ankit felt a deep calling to explore soul-centric therapeutic modalities—approaches that would allow him to journey inward, connect with his essence, and express his fullest creative potential.
This inner calling led him to Auroville in 2010—the international, experimental township in southern India—where he eventually discovered his path in Watsu, Woga, and other aquatic healing arts.
Since September 2024, he has also been enrolled in Dr. Gabor Maté’s professional training in Compassionate Inquiry, a trauma-informed psychotherapeutic approach that deepens his integrative and healing practice.

Pooja
From being fearful of water to discovering her love for water through Watsu, Pooja Gautam has been a pioneer in introducing and spreading Watsu in Mumbai and other parts of India.
Being among the foremost Indians to become WABA-certified Watsu practitioners, she’s now also the first Indian-origin Watsu instructor and teacher of Woga ITC (Water Yoga – Instructor Training Course).
Over the last few years, she has worked with 3,000+ clients, including a majority of non-swimmers and aquaphobes, for needs ranging from stress management, relaxation and rejuvenation to dealing with mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, among others.
Pooja serves as a visiting practitioner with marque hospitality and wellness brands such as St. Regis (Maldives), Six Senses, JW Marriott, Hilton, among others. Her work has been covered by renowned media brands such as The Times of India, Mid-day, Mumbai Mirror, TimeNowPlus, New Indian Express, CNN Travel, and Global Spa Magazine.
